jkh again
It was very nice to see Jordan K. Hubbard, this time as Engineering Manager, BSD Technology Group at apple, on their website.
For those who don’t know the story about Apple Mac OS X and FreeBSD, I quote this from their website:
The Apple operating system, Mac OS X, is based on a rock-solid, open source UNIX foundation that integrates features from the state-of-the-art FreeBSD 5. Combining the power, security and stability of UNIX with the ease of use of the Mac interface, Mac OS X gives you the ideal platform for scientific computing.
BBC, Copyright and My Photo
This one is ridiculous that BBC is using one of my photos in their website without my permission while there is a copyright notice in my photoblog.
So does this mean that I can use their content without their permission? This is what I am going to ask them.
Desktop Linux
I still believe most of current Linux desktop users are sort of baby-I-know-it-all type of people. I am not sure about next year, but for the moment, Windows XP is the best desktop OS (Yes, On PC platform I mean), even for people who live with Unix.
And an interesting quote from Channel Register’s article on Windows vs. Desktop Linux:
The move to Linux should not be an emotional one. Business executives don’t respond to the “Microsoft is evil” approach with the same vigor college kids reading Slashdot while having their morning coffee.
More Gmail storage
So, Google is boosting email storage to 2GB.
But they are doing it as they are able, like my account:
You are currently using 35 MB (3%) of your 1165 MB.
Cool! They are always one step ahead of others. (Sometimes even more than just one step).
