Internet access in Winter

with one comment

usroboticsmodem.gifI don’t know if it is the same in all over the world or not, but for me in my country which has no ISDN, ADSL or WLL yet, the fall and winter all the worst seasons of the year.

The reason? Well, from home I have no choice but going with V.90 dialup connection. When it rains or snows, the PSTN quality degrades and my modem starts falling back to a lower bitrate in order to keep connection alive. The more noise occurs on the line, the more fallback will happen. I can’t say if things were better in case of ADSL or WLL, but I am sure it was far better than the current situation.

Is everywhere else in the world like this?
